Peskov says Russia protected against fuel price fluctuations
MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) – Russia's mechanisms against fuel market volatility are sufficient to prevent excessive price fluctuations, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
"The local fuel market is, let's say, sufficiently protected, it is hedged against any excessive price fluctuations by the current mechanisms," Peskov said, when asked whether Russia could raise oil production in May to use it in the country.
He said that President Vladimir Putin has no plans to get in contact with the OPEC plus colleagues and that Russia is represented in the current negotiations by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. "There are no contacts scheduled for the head of the state at the moment but they can be organized really promptly if needed because the level of dialogue with Saudi Arabia is very good," Peskov said.
